Fraternity and sorority life
Looking for community, leadership opportunities, and a way to make campus feel like home? NAU’s fraternities and sororities offer lifelong friendships, chances to get involved, and meaningful ways to give back—plus, you’ll build a network that sticks with you long after graduation.

Governed by three councils, these organizations emphasize cultural awareness, philanthropy, and campus involvement. With a wide range of fraternities and sororities, there’s a place for you in the community.
Fraternity and sorority councils
Each of our fraternities and sororities falls under one of three councils: the College Panhellenic Council, the Interfraternity Council, and the United Greek Council and these councils serve as the governing board for the fraternities and sororities on campus. The councils promote policies and procedures developed at the national level of the association.
College Panhellenic Council
The Northern Arizona College Panhellenic Sororities Council (CPC) oversees all NAU social sororities. Each sorority elects a president and a council representative.

Interfraternity Council
The Interfraternity Council (IFC) serves as the governing body for all NAU social fraternities. Each fraternity has a president and council representative.

United Greek Council
The United Greek Council (UGC) supports NAU cultural fraternities and sororities. Chapters in this council emphasize cultural awareness and representation. Each fraternity and sorority has its president and a representative on the council.

Fraternity and sorority recruitment
At the start of fall semester, recruitment events introduce you to different chapters, helping you decide which one best fits your interests. You can also join during spring semester, but only chapters with openings hold recruitment in the spring semester.
Community service and philanthropy
Fraternities and sororities at NAU work with national and local organizations to raise funds and contribute to service projects. Members participate in fundraising, outreach, and hands-on volunteering.
Unrecognized Fraternity/Sorority Chapters
University-recognized fraternities and sororities work closely with the Fraternity & Sorority Life office. They are held accountable to university policies and can participate in Greek Life and university-sponsored programs.
Unrecognized fraternities/sororities are not subject to university policy nor monitored by the University. Groups that appear on the below list do not meet the University’s standards for recognition and have lost credit for failure to adhere to university policies. We strongly discourage students from joining these organizations.
