What to expect: first-year student application
The big picture: From application to enrollment
Here’s a quick look at the journey ahead:
1. Apply online
It takes about 20 minutes. Once you apply, you’ll receive an NAU account to track your progress and get important updates.
2. Get your admission decision
Arizona residents who meet our academic requirements are guaranteed admission, so you’ll likely hear back quickly.
3. Accept and submit enrollment fee
Secure your spot at NAU by accepting your offer and paying your $325 enrollment fee.
4. Apply for financial aid and scholarships
Complete your FAFSA as early as October 1 and apply for scholarships to maximize your aid.
5. Choose your housing
Once you’ve submitted your enrollment fee, you can access the housing portal. Applying early gives you a better chance at your preferred residence hall. Browse campus living communities.
6. Complete your remaining to-do list
Before classes start, you’ll take care of things like submitting final transcripts, submitting immunization documentation, enrolling in courses, submitting an ID photo and prepare for onboarding.
