What to expect: transfer student application
The big picture: Transferring to NAU
Here’s a quick look at the journey ahead:
1. Apply online
It only takes about 20 minutes. Create your NAU account, fill out the application, and upload transcripts from every college you’ve attended.
2. Hear back fast
We admit students on a rolling basis. If you’ve earned a 2.0 GPA or higher in college-level courses, there’s a good chance you’ll be admitted.
3. Accept your offer and lock in your spot
Once you’ve received your acceptance, confirm your offer and pay an enrollment fee to lock in your spot (enrollment fees are waived for online and statewide students).
4. Make the most of your credits and financial aid
Our team will review your previous coursework and identify what credits can be transferred. In the meantime, file your FAFSA and explore transfer-specific scholarships.
5. Plan where you'll live
Want to live on campus? Apply for housing once your enrollment fee is processed. Many transfer students also enjoy off-campus living around Flagstaff.
6. Finish your to-do list
Wrap things up with advising, class registration, and final document submissions before classes begin.
Key dates and deadlines
Rolling admissions: Apply anytime, but earlier is better for financial aid and housing.
FAFSA opens October 1. Use NAU school code 001082 when applying.
