Emergency Notifications
NAU utilizes the NAU Safe system to disseminate critical information during emergencies. Notifications are sent via:
- text messages
- push notifications through the NAU Safe app
- campus-wide email
- this webpage
Alerts are sent when there is an immediate threat to the campus and in situations requiring immediate notification.
All active NAU students, faculty, and staff are automatically enrolled in the NAU Safe Alert Notification System. To ensure you receive timely alerts, please verify and update your contact information in the NAU ID Portal.
In accordance with the Clery Act, NAU issues timely warnings and emergency notifications for any significant threats to the campus community.
NAU Safe App
The NAU Safe app is the official safety application of Northern Arizona University. It offers:
- Real-time location sharing with friends
- Direct contact with emergency services
- Crime tip reporting
- Safety escort requests
- Motorist assistance requests
- Customized campus location notifications
