Building toward 2030
Increase access, support student achievement, and deepen our impact across Arizona. These goals are driven by our strategic priorities and vision for inclusive, high-value education.
Goal #1: Educational access and career readiness
NAU will broaden access to higher education and equip students with the tools to thrive, both in the classroom and in their careers after graduation.
Indicators of success:
- Enrolling 12,500+ first-generation and lower-income students
- Retention and graduation rates exceeding 85%
- Over 5,000 degrees and credentials awarded annually
Goal #2: Economic mobility and statewide impact
Serve as a catalyst for economic advancement and community well-being across Arizona through education, research, and workforce development.
Indicators of success:
- Majority of NAU graduates working in Arizona within three years of graduation
- More than 8,600 health and behavioral health graduates supporting Arizona’s workforce
- Continued growth in research, public service, and community partnerships
