Graduation day brings excitement and a full campus. Use this guide to help plan your arrival and make parking and navigation as smooth as possible.
Parking on Commencement Day
Free parking will be available in several lots across campus, with shuttle service to and from the Skydome. To ensure the best parking and seating, we recommend arriving early. Doors open 90 minutes before each commencement ceremony. For maps and shuttle routes, check the Parking page.
Directions to NAU
From I-40 westbound (Albuquerque)
Take Exit 198 to Butler Avenue, then turn right.
- Shuttle parking (recommended): Turn left onto San Francisco St. and park in the P96B (San Francisco) parking garage.
- ADA and walk-in parking: Turn left onto Lone Tree Rd., then right on Pine Knoll Dr. and follow signs.
From I-40 eastbound (Los Angeles and Kingman)
Take Exit 191 to Route 66 and follow it to Milton Rd. Turn left on Milton Rd., then right on Butler Ave.
- Shuttle parking (recommended): Turn right from Butler Ave. onto San Francisco St. and park in P96B.
- ADA and walk-in parking: Turn right from Butler Ave. onto Lone Tree Rd., then right on Pine Knoll Dr. and follow the signs.
From I-17 northbound (Phoenix)
I-17 ends in Flagstaff.
- Shuttle parking (recommended): Take Exit 341 to McConnell Dr., turn right on Pine Knoll Dr., then right into the designated lot.
- ADA and walk-in parking: Take Exit 339 to Lake Mary Rd., right on Lake Mary Rd., left on J.W. Powell, left on Lone Tree Rd. and left onto Pine Knoll Dr. and follow the signs.
