Scholarship eligibility and general criteria
To be considered for NAU’s tuition scholarships, you must:
- be working toward your first bachelor’s degree
- be enrolled full-time (12+ credits)
- (We recommend 15 credits per semester to stay on track to graduate in 4 years.)
- attend Flagstaff or a statewide campus
- accept your admission and pay the enrollment fee
- submit final high school transcripts right after graduation
- for Jacks and Louie Awards only: have financial need as determined by the FAFSA
Note: These scholarships apply to tuition only and can’t be combined with other NAU tuition awards (outside scholarships are okay as long as the total doesn’t exceed tuition).
Access2Excellence (A2E): Full tuition coverage
If you’re an Arizona resident and your household income is $65,000 or less, NAU guarantees full tuition coverage through our Access2Excellence (A2E) program.
Even better? Members of Arizona’s 22 federally recognized tribes qualify, no matter your income or where you live.
Lost your scholarship? You may be able to get it back.
If something unexpected happens and you don’t meet the scholarship renewal criteria, you can request a review. Submit a Scholarship Reinstatement Request Form by the semester’s priority deadline. While reinstatement isn’t guaranteed, we’re here to help however we can.
Studying abroad? You can use your scholarship!
Your NAU tuition scholarship can travel with you! Most NAU education abroad and exchange programs allow you to use your scholarship toward tuition. However, this doesn’t apply to faculty-led or third-party provider programs.
