Louie’s Cupboard

NAU’s food pantry, Louie’s Cupboard, provides free groceries and essential resources so students never have to choose between food and their education.

Louie’s Cupboard is NAU’s on-campus food pantry, created by students, for students and staff. It began as a class project and has grown into a vital resource serving hundreds of Lumberjacks each year.

The pantry provides both perishable and nonperishable items through regular food distributions. You’ll find everything from canned goods and pantry staples to eggs, bread, fresh produce, and proteins, because no one should have to go hungry while pursuing their goals.

Food assistance programs

Grab-n-go bags

Convenient, ready-to-go meal kits packed with nonperishables like rice, canned fruits and veggies, pasta, peanut butter, and more.

Food distributions

Regular pantry pickups include a wide range of groceries: fresh produce, bread, canned goods, hygiene products, and more. Some events even include cooking demos and recipe kits.

Mini programs

Additional support includes the Brown Bag Lunch Program, the Snack for Jack Program, and pocket pantries across campus stocked with snacks and hygiene items.

Community support and collaboration

Louie’s Cupboard thrives thanks to the support of volunteers, donors, and campus partners. Together, we’re expanding access to food and resources through key programs like:

  • SNAP assistance: Get help navigating food benefit applications
  • Meal Swipes for Jacks: Donate unused meal swipes to students in need
  • Volunteer opportunities: Lend a hand with distributions, stocking shelves, or running donation drives
