Sports and athletics

From D-I competition to intramurals and club sports, NAU makes it easy to stay active, get involved, and show your Lumberjack pride. Join the 7000s, cheer on champions, and find your place in the action.

Go Lumberjacks!

At NAU, athletic pride runs deep. As a proud member of the Big Sky Conference, we compete in 15 NCAA Division I sports, and we don’t just show up, we dominate. Our men’s cross country team has earned six national championships since 2016, and the Lumberjacks have taken home four Big Sky Presidents’ Cups, including a sweep of the men’s and women’s trophies in 2020–21.

Home games light up iconic venues like the Walkup Skydome, one of the largest wooden domes in the country, now with a brand-new indoor track. You’ll also catch action at Lumberjack Stadium, the Wall Aquatic and Tennis Center, and golf courses throughout Flagstaff.
