Applying with other applications
Not all college journeys look the same. Whether you’re taking a few classes, earning a certificate, or coming back to NAU, you’ll find the right application option here.

Online
Pursuing an online degree means you get to select a semester-based course schedule, meet assignment deadlines, and pay tuition based on credit hours. For students pursuing a degree through our online programs, please fill out the online application.
Non-degree seeking
Apply as a non-degree-seeking student, as an undergraduate or a graduate, if you are not ready to apply to a degree program or you want to take classes for personal enrichment.
The application process for non-degree seeking students does not require a submission of transcripts or test scores.
Certificates
Undergraduate certificates
Apply directly for an undergraduate certificate program to enhance your skills and qualifications.
Graduate certificates
In order to enroll in a graduate certificate program, you must first apply for admissions to NAU Office of Graduate and Professional Studies (OGPS).
Post-baccalaureate
If you’ve previously earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and want to earn an additional bachelor’s degree, you can apply as a post-baccalaureate student.
In addition to completing the online post-baccalaureate application, you’ll need to:
- Pay a $40 non-refundable application fee
- Submit an official transcript from both the institution that granted your bachelor’s degree as well as any other attended colleges and universities to:
Northern Arizona University

Readmission
If you are a former, degree-seeking NAU student who has not been enrolled in any of the last three consecutive terms, you can apply for readmission.
Please note that the application for readmission is for undergraduates only.
A returning or readmitted NAU student must meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Have previously taken coursework at NAU as a degree-seeking student (not including withdrawals) AND have not taken courses at NAU for at least three consecutive semesters.
- Have completed a previous bachelor’s degree at NAU and wish to take additional classes or begin a second bachelor’s degree.
High school concurrent
If you want to take an academic course at NAU while you’re still in high school, we offer concurrent enrollment in limited situations.
To qualify for concurrent enrollment at Northern Arizona University, you must have completed grade 11 or have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
For more information and to get started with your application process, ask your high school counselor or contact NAU University Admissions at 928-523-5511 or admissions@nau.edu.
For acceptance as a concurrent enrollment student, University Admissions must receive your application and materials by July 1 for the fall semester, by Dec. 1 for the spring semester, or by May 1 for the summer term.
