Steps post-acceptance: transfer student
You’re in! Now let’s get you ready for your first semester. From enrollment to transferring credits to housing, here’s everything you need to finish strong at NAU.
Congratulations, Lumberjack! Welcome to NAU
Now that you’re officially part of the NAU family, here’s what to do next to make sure you’re ready for your first semester.
1. Lock in your spot
Accept your offer and, if it applies to you, submit the $250 enrollment fee. (There is no enrollment fee for online and statewide students.) This also unlocks access to the housing portal. Just give your enrollment fee payment a day to process before applying.
For students starting in the fall, enrollment fees are due by May 1 and non-refundable after June.
For students starting in the spring, enrollment fees are due by December 1.
2. If you haven't already, apply for financial aid
Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible to tap into scholarships, grants, and other aid. Need help? We’ll walk you through it.
3. Plan where you'll live
Want to live in the heart of campus life? Head to the housing portal after your fee is processed to apply to your top living community choices. Learn more about how to apply for housing at NAU.
4. Upload important documents
If you're attending the Flagstaff campus, don’t forget to upload your immunization records and an ID photo. Online and statewide students? You can skip this step.
Visit Health and Wellness to review immunization requirements, frequently asked questions, and instructions for submission.
5. Apply for scholarships
Don’t miss your chance at extra funding! Complete your application in ScholarshipUniverse. The deadline for general and Foundation scholarships is April 15.
6. Complete priority enrollment and academic advising
Get set up for success through Priority Enrollment. You’ll meet with an advisor, figure out what credits transfer, and get your class schedule locked in.
7. Apply to the Honors College (optional)
Honors at NAU means small classes, close mentorship, and elevated learning. The extra application opens in September.
8. Send us your transcripts
Ask your high school to send your final, official transcripts by July 1 if you're starting classes in the fall, or by January 5 if you're starting classes in the spring.
Send all official transcripts to:
