Discover what’s possible at NAU–Yuma

NAU-Yuma was established in 1988 in the Southwestern Arizona border region. The location allows students to live and study in a bi-national and multicultural setting. We work with educational institutions in Sonora and Baja, Mexico to give students opportunities to learn about global and regional issues. In 2006, the Arizona Board of Regents designated NAU–Yuma as a branch campus, which allows us to offer programs that meet the needs of students and communities in the lower Colorado region. NAU–Yuma is recognized as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) by the U.S. Department of Education.

Campus living

Living on campus at NAU–Yuma provides students with direct access to classes, campus resources, and a built-in community. The DeAnza Residence Hall includes fully furnished rooms, shared kitchens, lounges, grill deck, theater room, study rooms, private bathrooms, laundry rooms, on-site support staff, and a rooftop terrace with a view of the valley. Students from both NAU–Yuma and Arizona Western College live in this shared housing community. This living arrangement supports connection, access to support services, and opportunities to engage with fellow students.

Virtual tour

If you can’t visit in person, you can take a self-guided virtual tour of NAU–Yuma. The tour gives you a look at campus buildings, student spaces, and the resources available to support you. It’s a way to see what life is like at NAU–Yuma and learn more about the campus.

My hopes and dreams beyond college is definitely to stay in my community and become a young leader and give back to those first-generation students that also need help to get to higher education. Also, I’m really passionate about following my career in justice studies and become an immigration advocate here at Yuma, Arizona.
